Crescent Beach
Crescent Beach saw development with the completion of the Great Northern coastal line. It was one of the two beach/vacation destinations on the Peninsula for Vancouver and New Westminster as it was accessible by the train. AS a result, it is one of the earliest developed areas in South Surrey. The beach is beautiful and the neighbourhood still retains its resort feel.
Crescent Beach comprises the area of land located at the end of Crescent Road, west of 128th. Beecher Street is the main road in to Crescent Beach and is home to many restaurants and shops. Access to Crescent Beach and the boardwalk can be found at the foot of Beecher Street. The beach is stunning and there is a boardwalk that runs from the eastern end of Crescent Beach through to Blackie Spit, a flatland marsh with trails, great bird-watching, and even a historic farm. Blackie Spit is also accessed at the eastern end of McBride.
Crescent Beach is an extremely popular destination in the summer and on sunny weekends. For the remainder of the year it is fairly quiet. Homes in Crescent Beach range from old-timer beach cottage tear-downs to contemporary, multi-million dollar houses on the beachfront.
